ABOUT THE ARTIST

MYM Small image.jpg

Hi I’m Sara, an American artist, and designer based in Florence Italy. My work is largely inspired by nature with a strong emphasis on florals. I am also greatly influenced by the opulence of Renaissance costumes, decor, and architecture. I love color, pattern, and texture, and mixing them all together. I often describe my work as a combination of fine art and fashion.

A little bit romantic, a little bit rock n roll, people often tell me I’m ‘solare’ which means sunny in Italian. I smile a lot. I’m a total neat freak and can’t do anything until my bed is made. I am most definitely a workaholic and I wear my heart on my sleeve. I am obsessed with Game of Thrones, Outlander, and The Last Kingdom, or any other history-based drama with great costumes.

Over the years I have participated in countless fairs, jewelry shows, and markets and I also had a storefront in the center of Florence until Covid forced me to close. My work has been published in the art book Polymer Clay Journey’s and I have sold my designs internationally in boutiques in the United States, the UK, Belgium, Japan, and Italy. And most recently, I participated as a contestant on season one, episode five of the reality competition TV show, Meet Your Makers Showdown currently streaming on Discovery+.
