ABOUT

Sara Amrhein is widely recognized in her industry as an innovative and accomplished polymer clay jewelry artist. Her work was recently given a full feature in the latest edition of Polymer Week Magazine, a leading publication highlighting professional works in the medium. One of her necklace designs was also selected to be featured in the first edition of the printed art book, Polymer Journeys. In October of 2023, she is set to be a guest speaker at the Polymer Week symposium and workshop retreat which will take place in the Czech Republic and will feature a dynamic lineup of speakers and teachers who are experts in their medium. In 2021, she was a finalist in the Polymer Clay segment of Discovery+ Channel’s “Meet Your Maker Showdown” series.
Sara was born in New York and raised in Southern California where she attended Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. The city of Florence, Italy, and its treasure trove of art captured this artist’s heart during a study-abroad program, and after graduation, she moved to Florence to pursue her career as a jewelry designer. She lives in Florence still, with her husband Luigi, and their two cats, Michelangelo and Rosalina. She has recently renovated and opened a new studio and storefront in the city center where she creates and sells her work.
Color, texture, and pattern are the underlying strengths in Sara’s work and that can be seen in both her jewelry and her workspace. Her work merges sculpture, painting, and collage to create a unique perspective in jewelry design.
Each piece is handcrafted using high-quality, professional-grade materials. The primary medium is polymer clay, which is extremely durable and lightweight. All beaded accents are always semi-precious stone, glass, or crystal. All ear wires are stainless steel, sterling silver, or 14k gold plated.
